With departure in the morning from your accommodation your driver will take you to Siena, one of the most visited and loved cities in Tuscany. The city is rich in history, in art, and rooted in strong traditions most commonly tied to the renowned Palio of Siena and the cities’ typical contrade. Thanks to the special permits we have access to we will enter into the restricted traffic limited zone and arrive in the heart of the city centre, (only in groups of maximum 8 people). From here you will be able to set off and discover the wonders of the city. Perhaps you would like to be accompanied by a licensed tour guide, who will help you better understand and appreciate Siena and its wonders.

Walking through the streets filled with history you will eventually arrive at the wonderful Medici Fortress built by Cosimo De’ Medici in 1560; In two of the cities four quarters with very suggestive terracotta grottos you will finally find “Enoteca Italiana” and its permanent exhibition of fine Italian wines.
You will be able to find all types of wines on display in a permanent exhibition which belong to the denomination of controlled origin ( DOC and DOCG ) and typical geographical indication ( IGT ) of Italian wineries. These are selected by commission of experts.

You can then let yourselves be swept away from tasting such unique and selected wines thanks to ” Enoteca Italiana Siena ” wine mixers, where you will also meet oenologists and thanks to their explanations, and interactive material you will be fully immersed in the magical world of wine. Inside ” Enoteca Italiana Siena ” you will also find the Enoteca Italiana Siena restaurant. Here you can enjoy extraordinary typical Tuscan dishes, crafted by the hands of a chef and his staff who uses only local and Italian ingredients, raw materials, and typical products. All this inside a purely magical setting with its panoramic terrace that overlooks the Sienese Medici fortress.
After an extraordinary day spent among history, traditional foods and wines, we highly suggest you take a walk along the path on one of the Medici walls from where you will have a panoramic view of the city of Siena, among flower beds and centuries-old trees.

Wine tour Brunello and Nobile wine country

The first of our one-day wine tours will introduce you to selected wine-making estates in the Val d’Orcia area. But first, your driver will take you for a visit to Sant’Antimo, one of the most famous and ancient abbeys in Italy. The Abbey is in the municipality of Montalcino, a hilltop town where Brunello is produced. Brunello is one of the most widely appreciated wines in the world, scoring excellence awards vintage after vintage. You can choose to visit any of the several wine estates in the area: we suggest the Ciacci Piccolomini, Castello Banfi and Poggio Antico wineries, where reservations can be previously arranged on your behalf. At each winery, expert winemakers will welcome you and explain the fascinating world of wine-making. Moving to the Medieval town centre Montalcino for lunch, you may want to to walk the Fortress ramparts to admire the neatly groomed surrounding countryside, while the quaint old streets are lined with wine and craft shops. A relaxing early afternoon drive along scenic routes going through the Valdorcia National Park will take you to Montepulciano, a medieval city whose name is world-known as the home-town of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Here you should not miss a visit to the majestic underground vaults of the Redi cellars, built from existing tuff cave. The steep old streets climbing to the main square are lined with traditional craft workshops specialising in coppersmithing and frame carving. Again, a reservation will be pre-arranged on your behalf to visit some of the wineries where the most appreciated labels of Nobile and Rosso di Montepulciano wines are produced: Avignonesi, Il Poliziano, Valdipiatta.

Wine Tour Chianti Classico Wine Country

The Chianti Classico terroir covers the area between Siena and Florence at the heart of Tuscany. Our itinerary will take you along scenic routes through green hills and glorious countryside, stopping at some famous Medieval castles in whose cool cellars the world-famous Chianti wine is stored to age. Castello di Brolio in Gaiole in Chianti is one such winery: enjoy a guided wine appreciation session while learning everything about Chianti Classico wine from experienced wine makers that will answer your questions. Lunch will be at Castello di Volpaia, a charming village on the hills surrounding the town of Radda in Chianti, with some more wine tasting in the programme. Next, our exploration of Chianti continues to Castello d’Albola, whose expert wine makers will provide a guided tour of the winery and a lesson in wine tasting. Meat lovers will be delighted to learn that our last stop for the day is Greve in Chianti: under the portico surrounding the quaint central oval square, the old Salumeria Falorni is famous worldwide for its traditional Tuscan cold cuts and for the Chianina meat steaks, the real thing for “Bistecca alla Fiorentina”. These two different Wine Tour suggestions are distinguished by the terroirs and grape varieties traditionally used to make these famous wines. Moreover, travelling by car or coach through the gentle Tuscan countryside is always a great opportunity to admire the quaint medieval towns scattered all around, where time seems to have stood still.

Sagrantino Wine Tour

Sagrantino takes its name from the grape that is used to make some of the best wines in Umbria. This grape is one of the most tannic varieties in the world and creates red wines that are famous for the intensity of their aroma. In the recommended itinerary for this tour you will get to Montefalco in the morning, for the visit and the wine tasting at a local winery, that is renowned for the production of high-quality wines. You can decide to stay here for a light lunch, tasting some good local food with a selection of wines, or you can have lunch in one of the restaurants in the small, but picturesque, old town of Montefalco. After lunch, if you would like to try the very good extra virgin olive oil made in the surrounding hills, you can decide to visit a local oil producer for a tasting. Alternatively, the tour can continue to Torgiano, another town that represents the feather in the cap of the Umbria’s wine production, where it is possible to enjoy a visit and a wine tasting at one of the most renowned wineries in the area.
